EAST MIDLANDS COMPETITIONS
Congratulations to the Under 16’s on qualifying for the National U16 Clubs Finals at the Sugden Centre, Manchester on 24 and 25 April 2010. They won the Regional U16 League Playoffs on 21 March.
Congratulations to the Under 19’s on finishing as Runners-up in the Regional U19 Tournament held on 28 March 2010.
Well done to the Under 14 squad on their 3rd place finish at the Regional U14 Tournament held on 28 March 2010.

LEICESTER MERCURY SPORTS AWARDS
Charnwood Sapphires was up for two awards at the Leicester Mercury Sports Awards held at Leicester City Football Club on Wednesday 20 January. They were finalists in the Club of the Year category and the Community Impact Award.
SPORTS RELIEF
Thank you to everyone who took part in the sponsored shoot for Sports Relief, we raised £207.
The total number of goals scored over the hour was 411. Congratulations to Sarah Brett on guessing the exact amount, she wins the 1st prize of £15. The 2nd prize of £10 goes to Roisin Sheehy who guessed that 413 goals would be scored.
JAMIE AT HOME
Steph Burge is hosting a JAMIE AT HOME party to help raise funds for the club on Wednesday 14 April, 6-9pm. Everyone is invited to pop along. If the weather is fine there will also be a shooting competition in the garden!
SAINSBURY’S ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS
This year, Sainsbury's Active Kids is giving Clubmark accredited clubs the opportunity to take part in, and benefit from the Active Kids scheme. From 17 February to 8 June 2010, Sainsbury's shoppers can earn Active Kids vouchers for every £10 they spend in a main store (or every £5 spent in Sainsbury's Locals), at Sainsbury's petrol stations or online at sainsburys.co.uk.
Please can you bring any vouchers you may have and place them in the box at training.
PRINTER CARTRIDGES
We are collecting used inkjet printer cartridges to raise funds for the club. Any used cartridge can be given to Tim Farthing at training.
MALTA TOUR & BAG PACK
The club is planning to go on tour to Malta during the October half term break in 2010. The tour will be open to anyone who is currently in Year 8 and above. To help us keep costs down we are planning to do as much fundraising as we possibly can.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the 'bag pack' at Morrisons in Loughborough on Saturday 16 January. We raised over £500 from the day.
To date, we have completed three successful bag packs at Morrisons, Sainsburys and Tescos and raised over £2000.

CHARNWOOD SPORTS AWARDS
The inaugural Charnwood Sports Awards were held at the Town Hall, Loughborough on 2 November. Charnwood Sapphires Netball Club were shortlisted for 3 awards. Congratulations go to Kat Watson on winning the Young Volunteer of the Year award and to Lynn Moore on winning the Coach of the Year award. The club was highly commended in the Club of the Year award.
YOUTH UMPIRING AWARD
18 of the clubs Under 16’s, 15’s and 14’s are currently participating in the Youth Umpiring Award. They are attending 1 hour sessions before training on Sundays and learning the rules of the game and how to apply them in a match situation.
